Laitinens in Park City

We started our road trip to the Laitinen family reunion on Tuesday night. We drove to Las Vegas after work and piano lessons... We didn't get there till 11:30. Finn cried a bunch around bedtime--I could tell he was uncomfortable and wanted to lie down. He finally went to sleep and just woke up a few more times and cried. But we made it. Rose used to be the one who cried about sleeping in the car- it was weird to see them switching places. She asked a million questions about where we're going: are we going to Mimi's house after Park City?, where is the hotel?, is there a tv in our hotel in Park City?, are we almost there? (10x), are my cousins gonna be there?, I love my cousins!
When she woke up and realized we were in a hotel, her eyes lit up and she looked so sweet. This girl loves going on vacation. We set up her couch bed, Finn was already out like a light in his pack n play in the kitchenette, and Rose snuggled down and went right to sleep with a smile on her face.
The Residence Inn treated us well, and best of all the air conditioning was fantastic!
When he woke up Finn asked to go home multiple times. What a little homebody!

Things got a little bit boring at the end
We finally arrived at the lake house around 4:30
The next day we went out on the boat for a ride

Finn fell asleep on his own- I didn't even notice at first. He was so cute
That afternoon the kids did a craft

Movies during naptime
All the 5-year-olds born from March to July of 2011: Laila, Parker, Lilia, and Rose

The next day we did a run that was all about the little kids

Rose, Raimo, Finn, and I all got on the yellow raft- they were scared and Rose was crying tears, so we put her back in the boat. We also took them on the SeaDoos for a bit and they seemed to like it- lots of "slow down Mom!" And "don't get water in my face."
Here's Finn between us

I took my kids back to the house every afternoon for nap time. Here are a few more pics

The older girls got the little kids to dance together- very cute

On Saturday we did an adult run in the boat, and Raimo got a lot of time on the wake skate
He went out with Mikko

They even got on the same wake skate :)
Riding with his opposite foot

Love these guys' matching freckle
That night was picture night

The house was so beautiful. The kitchen table is so huge

Rose's 5th Birthday Party

Rose had her last week of preschool last week, so we decided to throw her a party  with all her friends a little early since everyone goes on vacation around the 4th of July. We had a little mermaid/shark pool party. We had a bit of June gloom, but the weather was still warm. We started them off with a race across the pool. Raimo gave the birthday girl a head start.
They played a game where they had to throw a spongy ball through the hoop then jump in the water. Bonus: if they got Raimoin the face with the ball, he had to dunk under the water. They were giggling about that!
We had a few other games but they weren't as exciting. Here's all the kids: Livi, Savannah, Henry, Jojo, Charlotte, Rose, Brooke, Eliza, Mason, and Grey, and a little brother Drew in front.
Cousins:

They had Chick Filet nuggets for lunch and watermelon and grapes, and salad for the moms.
We played pin the shell on the mermaid

And hit the piƱata

And a hot pink cake with white pearls.

Rose had a lot of fun opening her presents of course!

Rose wore her birthday crown the rest of the day- in the bathtub, during naptime, and even with her pajamas during story time.  It was very sweet to have her be so excited about her party.

At the end of the party she said, "Mom, this is the best day in the whole world."

It was an exhausting day, 30 weeks pregnant.
